The full moon is steadily creeping up again, thus Captain Ryan is much more comfortable outdoors than in. Of course that doesn't mean he's just standing about out there. You'll find him over near the pells beating out a steady wood-on-wood tattoo.

He's been there awhile.

Harry pauses nearby, wearing a sweater and keeping her hands in her pockets.

For a bit she watches. The rhythm is soothing.

Isn't it? The practice is a sort of meditation for Ryan. It's a good way to release tension, when he actually releases it and doesn't fuel it further and wind up going insane.

That's only happened once.

He hasn't noticed her yet.

She leans against a tree and fights the urge to hum.

It's interesting, watching him. They hadn't exactly had a great conversation last time.

Well, she did just spring on him that a huge terrorist attack happened 10 days after you died. You try and be Mr. Cheerful after that.

Not that Ryan is Mr. Cheerful anyway. (Except when he's a puppet.)

The movement at the corner of his eye is enough to attract his attention, though, and he shoots a quick glance towards Harriet's tree just enough to see who it is. Then he finishes his progression. For those who've seen Spoon in action, Ryan is nowhere near as graceful or smooth, but if all you can compare him to is a human, well, it's actually quite nice to look at.

He lowers the wooden sword to his side and turns to face his audience. "Harriet," he says with a small smile (no teeth), meeting her eyes. He isn't even breathing hard.

Wells doesn't want to be here.

He promised Suzi he'd avoid contact with Ryan, as per her request. That's a reason to stay the fuck away. He doesn't like Ryan much. That's a reason not to bother, even if it's not a reason to actively stay away. He's got dozens more where that came from.

But on the other side of the scale there's a damnable sense of conscience and obligation, and a sure and certain feeling that disaster awaits if he doesn't make a move to head it off first, so he's going to approach from upwind and wait at a reasonably courteous distance. And recite the North Atlantic Treaty in his head to keep him too busy to change his mind and leave while he waits to be noticed.

When it comes to that scent, it doesn't take all that long, and Ryan stops halfway through his progression to acknowledge the other alpha's presence by pulling his lips back from his teeth and meeting Wells' eyes.

At least he isn't growling.

Wells just looks back, head held high and gaze as steady as can be. He's still got his sword slung at his side from when he met with Boromir earlier, but his hand is next to the hilt, not on it. The way he sees it, he hasn't got to bare his teeth. Not for this.

"Ryan," he says after a moment or so, "I need to talk to you. There's something you need to know."

Ryan's own sword, and a wooden one at that, is still clenched in his fist but held down next to his leg. He keeps his own gaze steady but distracted by Wells' words, his lips cover his teeth as he wonders what the other man would deem information Ryan needs to know. Something bar related, no doubt. Another one of his squad, perhaps?

"Really?" he replies, unimpressed and arching an eyebrow.

There's a smoky PMPH from the forest. Kira comes scooting out shortly afterwards, coughing.

She smells a little like smoke and, for some reason, wet lichen. Thankfully, her spell ingredients were mostly consumed before they went up, and now she has to buy more. Oh, sigh.

Coughing is loud enough to grab his attention, and he stops to watch the person emerge from the woods. Kira smelled like smoke the last time they spoke/threatened each other's lives, so that's nothing new.

"If you're that desperate to blow yourself up, I would be only too glad to assist you," he growls, scowling and tapping the sword against his leg. He's not happy to see her. Can she tell?

Meep?

MEEP.

However, Kira did not survive vampires and a witch smacking her into a wall and airplane turbulence and several severe cases of jetlag to get squished by a werewolf with a stick. A little bit of defiance stirs, and is promptly thwarted by Kira's naturally submissive attitude.

"I don't want any help."

It is worth noting she also looks faintly betrayed.

"Really? You seem to be doing a rather lousy job of it." There's more growl now, and he doesn't trust himself to start on the pells again. He really doesn't want to have to shape another wooden sword.
