Something different is with Rand as he walks down into the bar from his room. He's never been visibly armed before.

Tonight, there is a blade strapped to his hip, peaceknotted with a red silk cloth and white silk cord.

He sits unobtrusovely at the bar and flags down the bartender of the evening with his uninjured hand.

Possibly it is difficult to be unobstrusive with a sword.

Possibly Raven is just feeling friendly.

The most likely possibility, however, is that Raven is bored.

He blinks at Rand, head tilting.

"You are often for expecting trouble, then?"

Raven grins, tilting his head.

"There are ways for coping, then?"

Not that Raven really needs them, but--

And then the chuckle turns into a laugh.

He stops in time to grin at Raven.

"Why do you think I'm here?"

[creator_raven]

Raven laughs in turn, head tilted back.

"Possibly because the beer is good?"

Probably that is not the reason, really.

[flame_and_void]

"If I were to drink beer, it might be a good one."

[creator_raven]

Raven makes a face at him.

"That, I think, is mostly being picky. So."

[flame_and_void]

"Perhaps it's simply the conversation and company."

[creator_raven]

Raven considers this very carefully.

"Possibly. They are not so bad here, at all."

[flame_and_void]

And the conversation comes full circle.

"This is the part where one of us either offers to pay the other's tab, or someone plays music."

[creator_raven]

Raven laughs again.

"Mostly I am not for having a tab, I do not think."

This? This is very true.

"And as for the other--I am also not so good with instruments. It is a pity."

[flame_and_void]

"Are instruments the only way to make music?"

An eyebrow is raised in quiet curiosity--and perhaps challenge.

[creator_raven]

Raven quirks a grin.

"There is, perhaps, also singing."

Beat.

"But that is possibly not so wise, I think."

[flame_and_void]

"Perhaps not. Then we find ourselves at an impasse."

Standing, Rand manages a slight bow.

"Perhaps I'll teach you the flute next time."

[creator_raven]

Raven snorts.

"It is, perhaps, not so bad a thing to try."

There is a little bit of emphasis on 'try'.

Sometimes Raven is stubborn.

It is a pity.
