"Suzi. How've you been? Aside from not-dead, which is obviously a good bar to stay at."

"Whistler changed subspecies for me, I have an apprentice who is a dead werewolf, I was in an interstellar war, Belar's Tree promised that I'll be able to be a channel again sometime, and I have lots of shoes." Red. Red shoes, with high heels.

"Lucky thing. Go back to the subspecies bit. How? What?"

You'd think that Barbara wouldn't find herself so surprised to see a newspaper in Portuguese, what with a bar full of gods, wizards, and the Endless. But apparently you'd think wrong.

She stops and, somewhat rudely, reads a couple of headlines over Random's shoulder.

"Can I help you?" he asks, without turning around, or so much as twitching, in fact. The paper stays up too.

"Or, just catching up on the news?"

"Sorry. Catching up, I guess. Mostly I don't get very many chances to practice my Portuguese."

"You speak the language?" he asks, in the language (the one the mun doesn't speak and isn't going to bastardize with an internet translator.)

Here is a man who has spent the past few days in Hell. Obviously.

At least he's out of the infirmary now. Though just barely. He's on his way towards the rooms when he spots Random.

He leans against Random's table, smiling out of raccoon eyes.

"You were right."

"Of course I was." Primly gesturing at the seat opposite.

"About what?"

Miniver collapses into it.

"People."

"Specifically?"

He flags down a rat.

"Coffee? You look like death warmed over."

And Random as aquired an Ajedrez. Or rather, a Beatriz, seeing as she hasn't gotten around to telling him her normal name yet.

"Hola."

"Hola."

He folds up the news paper.

"Haven't seen you around much."

"Well, you know. The Bar is a scary, scary place and I'm hiding." She says, with a little smile.

"In plain sight? Best way to hide something."

As anyone should know.

Santino seated himself in the corresponding chair, and glanced at the headline with a slightly raised eyebrow.

"I know Spanish, but not Portuguese." He thought aloud. "Pity." And flashed Random a smile.

He lowers the paper.

"Nothing interesting. It's not a great paper. City bilaws and some celebrity tripe."

He laughed, a little. "Then why bother reading it?"

"Occasionally there's a gem or two. And I live in that city sometimes, so it's good to keep on top of it, to pass as actual citizens."

Though they don't interract with others much. Seeing as Ramon is dead.
