It pays, it really does pay, to get to the hospital a few hours before rounds and go through the cases. Not only does that give you time to look up details that have become fuzzy, but you know which patients are getting the cool surgeries, and it is so much easier to gun for those ( Read more... )

Sharon is also not watching where she is walking as she is reading a book (stupid thing to do while walking but hey).
She walks straight into Christina scattering her papers and dropping her own book in the process.

"what the... Oh sorry. Guess I should watch where I'm walking."

She bends down and begins to gather up the pages that are now covering the floor.

"Yeah, you should." Christina grumbles, even though she was doing much the same thing. "What are you doing back here anyway? This is..." The annoyed rant cuts off as she realizes that once again she's wandered into the psycho ward from hell.
"Oh come on, I haven't even had my third cup of coffee yet."

Sharon glances behind her to see what the woman is talking about.

"What do you mean back here? Where do you think you are?"

"I know I'm in this twisted version of a psychiatric ward, and I'm hoping there's a coffee maker somewhere. I have rounds in two hours and I need to finish my reading." Christina corrects, heading towards the bar with her usual hurried pace.

Funny how these things seem to just set themselves up.

She's got a bundle of papers. He's tossing a ball between his hands and not looking where he's going.

There's only one way this can end, really.

With a crash. And profuse apologies. And -- "Hey, where'd my ball go?"

Luckily, hospital records tend to be bound together for just this reason. Otherwise one would never know if the tests that show up in the charts actually belong there.
"Hey, if you don't know where it is, how the hell am I supposed to know?" She snaps back, fetching her file back from where it fell. "Dirty-minded idiot."

Matt actually spares a look at his hapless victim, who has just un-happed herself by quite a few points with that last remark. Wait, un-happed? Happed? He doesn't know. The point is, whatever just happened, he's right.

Still, he'd rather not consider the obvious answer to his situation, and doesn't look around quite yet. "You're not an actor hurrying to make it in time for a sketch, are you?"

Christina gives him the 'You are such an everloving idiot' glare of doom.

"Do I look like an actor? Huh?" Actor. Please. Dense as well as posessing a complete inability to hide his filthy mind.
