Near the door to the lake stands a Moon white woman with a Moon white dog. The woman has eyes of dark gold, and she wears nothing but a coat-slightly large-a scarf-once around the neck of Xas, the angel-and a white deerskin tunic that comes to her knees.

She watches the room, warily. She is within for the warmth, but will flee if she must.

Behind Bar, Bernard pulls several martini glasses down, juggling them with all the grace of a maimed bear. it should be no surprise when he drops two.

"Goddammit." He sets the remaining glasses down, and turns to find a broom.

He sees the woman, and pauses.

He's had an inkling from Bar about this woman.

"...Hi."

The loud noise, and the curse, caused her to tense up and be ready to flee. Ash stands, and looks at him with curiosity. When, however, the man pauses and simply looks at her the woman does not flee, "Good morrow."

His gaze flickers down as he approaches slowly, Bar between them. "Nice dog."

He's smiling.

He has finished up his water, removing money from his billfold to set beneath the empty glass left at the bar.

He glances up.

He smiles, waving (with his right hand) for a moment.

He goes on his way.

All the blood drains from Bernard's face.

His vision is bordered by pinpricks of black. It's a struggle to breathe.

He is frozen to the spot for some time.

After about fifteen minutes of staring at the door with fixed intensity, Bernard requests pen and paper from Bar and writes... nothing.

Nothing happened. There is nothing to report.

Santino's path (most strangely) crosses Bernard's, and the Vampire glanced from the new sign to the barman, and arched an eyebrow somewhat.

"I would assume you're a figure of authority here, but decidedly not the barman I first met." He flashed Bernard a smile. "Even if I'm not even half-way correct in my assumptions, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Bernard turns with a smile. "There are two Barmen. I'm the good-looking, old school one." He sticks out a hand. "Bernard Wrangle."

Santino took Bernard's hand in his strong, thick-knuckled own and shook.

"I could tell the former, but not so much the latter." Tone warm, friendly, almost conspirational.

"Salvatore."

"Good to meet you. Get you something while I'm back here?" He gestures to the amassed glasses on Bar. "Might as well."

Simon's been looking for Bernard over the past few days, and is just on the point of deciding to leave him a note.

Until he spots him, and heads over to the bar.

He could just knock on the flat door.

Bernard turns and smiles. "Hey, Simon. How've you been?"

"Wei, Bernard. I, ah."

Recently insane, thanks, and yourself? just doesn't quite seem the thing to say.

"There's ... something I need to tell you, if you're not already aware of it."

Bernard stands up straighter, his smile fading. "What's wrong?"
