There's a Sam sitting in a booth in the bar.
There is, of course, some blue jello.
And, for once, there is not any work!
Instead she has a book.
...granted it's a book on chemical theory, but sometimes you've just got to take what you can get.
elizabeth weir,
lazarus long,
cassandra fraiser,
samantha carter

And then she sees Colonel Carter.
"...Sam?"
Reply
"Doctor Weir." She smiles.
"I didn't realize you had made it to Milliways.
Congratulations."
Reply
"Colonel. I've been here for a few months, actually." Decidedly shifty, "I was in the SGC and ended up here."
Might as well not give away too much, if Sam is from earlier than her own timeline.

But it doesn't take long to get back into the military way of thinking. Even if this is Milliways.
She notices the oddness, but seeing that she doesn't know Elizabeth very well and it's not her place to question anyway, she feels it's best to ignore it.
"I believe that most of the SGC personnel have had similar experiences. Even Dr. Fraiser arrived her from Stargate Command.
When I first arrived I was going to try to see if there was a correlation, but I haven't found one so far."

The package-ey thing is placed in front of Sam and the shake in front of Billy as he settles next to her.
"Hi! Merry belated Christmas!"
The package contains scientific reports from thirty different worlds.
Under the reports is an almost purple, but defintiely blue dress that would fit both in a formal setting and in a more informal one.
Reply
"Thank you, Billy..and Merry belated Christmas to you!"
She looks at the package.
"..Should I open it now?"
Reply
"Yes. You should."
He nods.
"How are you?"

..
Is this what it looks like?" She takes a closer look at the reports, her eyes dazzled with the excitement of a scientist.
"And a dress..Very pretty dress." She looks at it and smiles. "I think Bar's been holding out on me in the girly clothes department. I haven't managed to get a skirt out of her since we got here."
She grins up at Billy.
"Thank you."
