The Door opens.
Rather it's shoved open by a dappled, grey nose. Said nose is followed by an equine body...a filly not quite a year old.
"Cai! Come back here!"
The filly whickers playfully and trots quickly into Milliways. There is a mildly irritated man in robes who follows her.
Let's all welcome the Ranger and Cai back, everybody.

"Well, I suppose you can have a short reprieve from your exam," he says, in quiet amusement. "Go outside if you wish, but stay close to the stables."
Cai tosses her head and trots off for the Back Door.
The Ranger looks around. It's been a while since the Door opened for him...and he's been looking forward to coming back. And he does manage to spot a familiar face.
He wanders over to Draco's booth, taking in the boy's mental state.
"Kenaz?" he says quietly.

He gave a nod, and seemingly casual in his tone as he replied, "Back again I see? Been a while, hasn't it?"

A waitrat scurries up. "Oh, Dragon Lily tea, please," the Ranger orders. The rat squeeks and runs off again. "But, even barred from this place, there has been no shortage of tasks for me back home."
He chuckles. "Though equine husbandry is not exactly something I expected to be doing when I joined the Anla'shok. How have you been doing, my friend?"

Garion's amulet. What can you do.

Hello, hello, know you, smell before!
The Ranger is following along behind. "Cai," he sighs. "I know you don't like..." Then he notices where they are. "Well, if you HAD to run off, I suppose this place is a good choice. Hello, Ray."

Oops. That's jerky.
"Bar? Can I have a couple of baby carrots, please? Thank you..." These are held out to the horse. "Yeah, I know you smelled me before. Wow, you're a big girl now. Here, have some carrots." He waves to the Ranger. "Hey there. How's it going?"

Cai eagerly helps herself while the Ranger comes up and places a hand on her withers.
"Relatively well, my friend," he says. "Thanks to the genetic material I was able to obtain here, we are anticipating the strongest generation in equines in the last thousand years."
He quirks an eyebrow down at the filly. "Even if some of our charges are reluctant to have health maintainance done."

He stopped for a moment, wiping futilely at the smashed veggies glob near his temple. He then noticed who just arrived, and had to chuckle a little.
Caretaking misery loves company?
(ooc: *snugs* Welcome back! Will have to say slowtime some for work, but two of my pups wanted to speak.)

((OOC: Yeah, muses are finally waking up. Slowtime is love.))

Peter was somewhat ready for that. When the filly gets close enough, he was gonna gently nudge her back, "Hey, no nibbling."
Meanwhile, Maria had noticed the approaching filly, and laughed. Little girls and horses. If she was a bit older, she would likely be saying horsey! But she just burbled and babbled excitedly in babyspeak.

With a swish of robes, the Ranger catches up. "Oh, hello," he says as he catches sight of the pair. "Cai, come away. That is not your supper."
He grins ruefully. "Bold as brass she is," he says apologeticly, then tugs at her mane. "Behave and you can stay here. I'll even get you an apple or two."

Forgive Wilson for staring.

...well, at least it's a horse, and not a flesh eating dinosaur. Wilson's a little rigid as the horse begins to sniff him. He does, however, smile at it, even if his smile is a little strained.

A tall, bald man in slightly dusty robes strides over and gazes at the filly with rebuke in his eyes. Cai, for her part, looks abashed and pulls back a little (still sniffing from a distance).
"My apologies, sir. She is a willful, little thing at times."

certainly. He's new here, so he's a little surprised when he looks up at the sound of a horse's hooves. The Herald smiles at the filly's antics.

She trots over, coolly ignoring the Ranger who rolls his eyes and follows.

Treats? Yes, good plan. There's a salad on Kris' table that hasn't been touched yet. He snags a piece of apple before Cai reaches him.
"Hello."

"Cai has such a simple view of the world," the Ranger says laughingly as he catches up. "It's all there for her delight. Our function is to provide said delight quickly and efficently."
