She's in the chair next to her.

"I'm bored, where's your brother?"

Of course she is. Alanna is just having one of those days.

"Thom?" Alanna can also do bored. "He's off walking with the gods for all I know."

Stiffening, she steadfastly refuses to look over.

"Darn. I was thinking of manipulating him into sex again."

Fury licks through Alanna's veins. Very calmly, she rests her hand on the hilt of her sword.

"And just how would you do that?"

Mmmm, pie.

Arthur detours for a piece of his own before settling on the armchair nearby.

"Hello, 'lanna."

He's forgetting his manners and talking with his mouth full.

Yes, but is it apple pie? Alanna is partial to apple, even if she isn't quite sure why she has the urge to top it with chocolate sauce.

"Hello, Arthur." Curiously, Alanna appears to be doing the same thing. Why wait to finish chewing when you can do both at once? "Have you been gone for a while?"

It's chocolate creme, actually. Arthur's not quite in the mood for fruit tonight, even if it does come in delicious pie form.

"I've been in and out," he replies with a vague wave of his fork. "We seem to keep missing each other."

It may not be apple, but Arthur's pie gets an interested look all the same.

"Indeed, we do," she says, lips twisting into a faint smile. "It probably doesn't help that I have been extremely busy."

Or absorbed in her own life, at least.

Ingress bops over, and once she sees Alanna, her face lights up in a huge smile.

"Alanna, hi!"

Looking up, Alanna sees the one thing always guaranteed to banish a bad mood and smiles in return, laughing inwardly at how tight her cheek muscles feel. Surely this isn't the first time she's smiled today? Then again, maybe it is.

"Hello, lass!" Unfurling herself from the sofa, she stands and holds her arms out.

She hugs Alanna and then notices her tummy. She's seen tummies like this before. They mean a baby is inside! Except when they mean someone's been eating too much candy and cake, but mostly it means a baby.

"Your tummy! You're going to have a baby, aren't you???"

Were this a month or two earlier, the large plate of pie might lend support to the second theory. As it is, however, it's pretty obvious that Alanna is pregnant, especially when she turns sideways to show it off.

Which she does, naturally.

"I am! Actually..."

She trails off and winks, smiling mischievously.
