Mmmm, pie.

Arthur detours for a piece of his own before settling on the armchair nearby.

"Hello, 'lanna."

He's forgetting his manners and talking with his mouth full.

Yes, but is it apple pie? Alanna is partial to apple, even if she isn't quite sure why she has the urge to top it with chocolate sauce.

"Hello, Arthur." Curiously, Alanna appears to be doing the same thing. Why wait to finish chewing when you can do both at once? "Have you been gone for a while?"

It's chocolate creme, actually. Arthur's not quite in the mood for fruit tonight, even if it does come in delicious pie form.

"I've been in and out," he replies with a vague wave of his fork. "We seem to keep missing each other."

It may not be apple, but Arthur's pie gets an interested look all the same.

"Indeed, we do," she says, lips twisting into a faint smile. "It probably doesn't help that I have been extremely busy."

Or absorbed in her own life, at least.

Alanna giggles, looking at him out of the corner of her eye as she takes a sip of tea.

He finally notices her rather expansive midsection and grins.

"Congratulations, mum."

He shouldn't feel too bad. After all, she's not that large just yet, and there is the pie to consider.

"Thanks," she grins. "Triplets, can you believe it?"

Alanna's lips twitch, both at Arthur's expression and at the thought of the smile Adam would give if asked that question.

"Adam? Quite well, now. It was a bit rocky at first. We meant for this to happen, but it happened rather sooner than we expected."

"I'm a twin, but it never actually occurred to me that we might have more than one," she laughs. "We'll manage. Somehow."

Taking another bite, she gestures to him with the fork.

"So. How have you been?"
