"Oh, I've been fine," she says, putting down the book with a smile. "The twins have kept me busy, and so has school, but there's a snowstorm in Avonlea today and little work to do. It's lovely to to see you, too! How have you been?"
If Puck is surprised at all by the hug, he doesn't show it.
Nope.

"Well, ah-- I must admit that my wandering has been somewhat constrained." A brilliant smile. "Can it be possible that we've missed each other all this time?"

The source of said chuckle is Puck, who is more or less draped over the back of her chair.
"Anne, Anne, my darling Anne."

"Dearest of Pucks! It has been ages, hasn't it? Have you simply been wandering about all this time?"
Without really thinking about it, she stretches up to give him a quick hug with her free arm.
"It's very good to see you."

"That must be it," she admits, "although I've had to stay in Avonlea for quite a while, and haven't been back here in, oh, ages. How are you?"
