Amy is going to be very hard not to notice, Longfellow or no.

"Anne!"

But! Longfellow!

...Alright, dusty old poets are probably not as attention-grabbing as Amy.

Anne looks up with a smile, and waves.

"Amy! Hello!"

Perhaps in person. Maybe. But Amy is more than a match for a book.

"Anne, it is so wonderful to see you again. How have you been?"

"Oh, I've been fine," she says, putting down the book with a smile. "The twins have kept me busy, and so has school, but there's a snowstorm in Avonlea today and little work to do. It's lovely to to see you, too! How have you been?"

From directly over her shoulder comes a soft chuckle.

The source of said chuckle is Puck, who is more or less draped over the back of her chair.

"Anne, Anne, my darling Anne."

She has to twist around to see him, but when she does a brilliant smile lights up her eyes, and she laughs.

"Dearest of Pucks! It has been ages, hasn't it? Have you simply been wandering about all this time?"

Without really thinking about it, she stretches up to give him a quick hug with her free arm.

"It's very good to see you."

If Puck is surprised at all by the hug, he doesn't show it.

Nope.

No way.

"Well, ah-- I must admit that my wandering has been somewhat constrained." A brilliant smile. "Can it be possible that we've missed each other all this time?"

And if Anne looks mildly triumphant when she sits back, well, it could simply be a trick of the light.

Not that she would ever want to throw Puck off. No.

"That must be it," she admits, "although I've had to stay in Avonlea for quite a while, and haven't been back here in, oh, ages. How are you?"
