When the door in the library opens into Milliways tonight, Rose is only mildly surprised, and not at all annoyed; a place where she does not have to worry about the ever-increasing press of time is, after all, a welcome break. What does take her rather more by surprise is the sudden additional weight on top of her head

There's a strangled noise of suprise from nearby, and a troll staring.

Rose will be very calm, she has decided, despite a stronger-than-usual urge to snarl at something.

"Kanaya. Do you by any chance have a reflective personal viewing device on your person?"

Once again, Rose raises a hand to investigate the weight on her head.

"That would explain the sudden appearance of horns on my head"

She will remain calm and not flip the fuck out. She will.

Kanaya offers a nervous smile, handing over the previously mentioned object.

"Well it is an indisputable fact that my style is flawless."

A look in the mirror, and. Yes. Yes she is. In fact. A troll. Grey skin - not makeup, it doesn't rub off - fangs, horns, yellow eyes... Why the hell is she a troll?

She watches as Rose inspects herself.

Rose's eyes narrow; the look is even meaner than her usual glare, which is not an easy feat.

"Yes. It is an Earth holiday, celebrating the dark and grim. Traditionally, children dress in costumes, and extort candy from adults. It is also well-known as a day of pranks."

Eyebrows rise in face of the snarl, but otherwise remains calm.

"I would not be so... discomfited, had I been consulted prior to the transformation."

She takes a deep breath, and lets it out slowly, giving Kanaya a slight smile. She is not, after all, angry at her friend.

Smiling in response, Kanaya pats the place beside herself gently.

Rose takes the seat beside Kanaya.

"If, as you say, others have been complaining about it, then I think that you may be right."

"It is most peculiar," she has to admit. "I find myself lacking the vocabulary to describe certain sensations. Speech is also complicated, as I am not accustomed to fangs."
