FYI The coding at the end is messed up. :)

This looks pretty cool. How do you get the smooth edges around her?

When I use the pen tool for cutting, I can set the amount of feathering with the selection. The higher the number, the more soft the edges will be. I usually go with 1, or 2. And then also when you have a selection around your image, you can go to selection>>edit>>smooth as well.

Ooh I haven't used the pen tool. I'll have to try that. Thanks! :)

Great tut!

I've not been doing alot of Photoshop lately due to time constraints...but this one looks like fun!

Thanks!

Wow! That was super fast. Thank you! ♥ You've explained everything so well. I'm going to try and use this method on a "Moonlight" wallpaper. Would you mind if I friend you?

My first attempt. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, though perhaps I made it a little busy....http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc162/mscam_share/wallpaper-1.jpg But, thank you *so* much for the inspiration! ♥

Ooooo, that's very pretty! I would have maybe made the flower a little smaller or brought it down to the bottom, but over all it's a beautiful graphic! Thanks so much for trying out the tut and showing me your result. I love seeing what people come up with. You did a lovely job :)
