(Yeah, I keep on calling Mr. Bennett Jack Bristow to the point where my roommate might be about to throw things at me.)
Definitely loved the fuckin' of the creepy plans...
But here's my question: was the reason that Peter couldn't fly himself out into the wild blue yonder because he can only use one power at a time/he was too weak? Just curious...
Well, we are talking about the fandom that bitched about how Candice's powers had "changed"--she was a shapeshifter, what's this "bending light" business?
It makes me a liiiiittle bit worried about them doing the, "Oh, how likely is it they're really dead?" maths.

Know what you mean. TPTB didn't define if she was a true shapeshifter or was affecting perception in some way -- until they did: turned out she was affecting perception, possibly by "bending light". Outside of joss'd fanfic, what's the problem?
As for Nathan and Peter, I'd say what they'd try to do is get Peter as high as possible, then Nathan bugs out while Peter (who evidently can't fly himself while he's trying to hold back a nuke-boom) starts falling and counting seconds, waiting for Nathan to get far enough away. Post-boom it's a bit up in the air (no pun intended) -- if Peter was conscious he'd fly himself out, but Nathan would still try to get back asap in case he wasn't, since the fall probably wouldn't kill Peter but would kill anybody he landed on.

Then again, I can't remember if we've ever seen him use more than one at a time.
