Gruinard Island Retrieval Mission- Let The Mayhem Commence

Jun 17, 2006 12:20

In an island full of scientists and soldiers there are inevitably going to be those who take the easy way out. When the behavioural conditioning go-rounds with the stock in 4B, 4C, and the kennels are out of the way for the day, those responsible for the beasts within cannot always be expected to muster the enthusiasm to monitor their charges personally. That is what closed-circuit cameras are for- when they choose to watch them, which is not always. Scientists have other things to do. Such as trying to separate the soldiers from their pay, for instance.

"Bet you twenty quid Number Fourteen could take Number Seventy in a five-minute fight," says Dr. Farrell, who has been working especially hard lately on adapting the Mosquito technology to the needs of Special Weapons Div.

"Please," says the big Nepalese guardsman with a snort. "I have worked with both of them. Seventy would tear out his throat if you left those two alone that long."

"Yeah? Well, what about-"

But the soldier isn't listening; his eyes have lifted to a bank of lights on the wall opposite. Farrell twists around and swears. One of the amber ones is flashing furiously.

"Bugger," says Farrell, coming to his feet. " Auguste."

[OOC: no, I have not locked this. Yes, it is only for the Island of Gratuitous Mayhem people- beginning with my lovely assistant mwa_hahaha.]
