For all her talk of wanting a normal life, Mary was still restless and fighting the urge to go out and check the shadows for anything that shouldn't be there. Part of it might have been wanting to show Dean that she was just as good -- or a better -- hunter than he was. Eventually she gave up and headed outside to do a little patrolling and work

After his talk with Meg, Sam decided to get out of his room and take a walk.

When he spotted Mary, he froze. She was the last person he wanted to run into today.

Mary, of course, had no reason to know Sam was emo, as she was very much alive and well. She caught sight of Sam and paused, waiting for him to catch up to her.

Groaning inwardly when he realized she was waiting for him, Sam gave her an awkward wave. "Hey, M.... Mary," he said. "Settling in okay?"

She nodded. "Hi, Sam," she said. "Yes, I am. Just feeling really restless tonight for some reason, so I decided to take a look around."
