The Park, Wednesday Evening

May 14, 2008 18:54

Mikaela was hanging out in the park near Bumblebee. She was reading a book about working on some of the latest car engines on the market, and laughing.

"God, you would think that some of these guys had never worked on anything more complex than a lawnmower."

She apparently didn't have a high opinion of some of the techniques in the book.

Though only someone with the unique ability to see ghosts would have spotted it, but the surface of the grass seemed to bulge and flex as though pushed at from underneath by some strange, vaguely human creature.

It crept up to where Mikaela was standing, then seemed to pull itself out of the ground. It resembled nothing less than an animate cloak, with long, sharp looking fingers as it loomed over her.

Not, of course, that she could see it. Unless she happened to be able to see spirits.

Mikaela could not see spirits and was therefore unaware that thee was anything threatening her. She continued to read, sometimes quoting passages for the Autobot that was listening nearby.

Those claw like fingers plunged forward to drive into her chest and squeeze her heart.

Mikaela dropped the book as she felt pain in her chest. Her eyes widened and she tried to call out for help. She hadn't ever felt anything like this before.

It hurt.

"'Bee... need..."

She needed a doctor and she was a little ways from the clinic.
