This is Halloween - Treats!

All over the village various businesses and homes were decked out for Halloween fun.

For instance, the Town Hall has been turned into a spoooooky haunted house!
Yay!

[ooc: Please wait for OCD. In an effort to save the flist there are sub threads for people to ping in to make their home/business open for Trick or Treating, mostly treating.

The air is crisp, people are wandering around in costumes. There's free candy to be had.

Ping in here if your home or business is offering treats to the costumed masses.

Cadfael is a "when in Rome" kind of guy. He's obviously not got the memo from the more modern Catholics about Hallowween.

He's got little cookies made with dates that he learned about in the Holey Land.

They're lightly sweet and quite delightful.

Dean wasn't sure what to make of going trick or treating at a church or a chapel. But he figured Pastor Jim, at least, would probably approve, so that was good enough for him.

The town hall building is decked out to 11.

Various public servants are dressed up waiting to scare (or at least startle) the beejees out of you.

Screwtape stands out front of the Town Hall wearing his normal attire.

The only hint of a costume is that somebody has attached a headband with cheezy blinky plastic devil horns to his bowler hat.

He is not amused by any of this.

"Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly." he says dryly and unenthusiastically to any trick or treater who passes.
