The Park Lake, Tuesday Afternoon

It sure as hell wasn't the Pacific, but it'd have to do. Logan had changed into board shorts and now he left his t-shirt and shoes on the shoreline. He ran into the water and dove towards the deeper part of the lake, ignoring the squawks of indignant ducks.

Rincewind watched from a safe distance behind a big tree, wincing at the squawking. He supposed he ought to say something like, 'Mind the ducks. They bite' but decided against it in favor of staying out of the reach of their sinister beaks.

Faith was enjoying the park. She was also totally ignoring Logan. After all, it was his fault.

When Logan pulled himself out of the lake to rest on the island for a few moments, he spotted Faith and waved.

Faith lit a cigarette and lounged, leather pants creaking a bit as she shifted.

Bellatrix came up behind Faith silently, abscent of Lord Elrond for a change. "Got one for me?" She said flopping down onto the ground next to Faith.

If he was younger, and not a monk, Cadfael would be seriously considering the shooting and cooking and eating of a few of these ducks.

Being on public land and all. Which wouldn't be poaching at all.

But he wasn't, and he was, so he doesn't.

In the center of the pond, in a crevice under the island, something dozed.

Logan dove down, exploring the underwater geography and occasionally poking at things that looked interesting.

Honeyblossom slept on.

Sam walked past Logan frolicking in the lake. "Having fun?"

Logan shook the water from his hair and drops flew everywhere. "I am, thank you," he said. "Do you swim?" It was asked casually but there was a bit of challenge in his voice.

"Occasionally," Sam said. "Not generally in duck ponds though."

"These ducks are pretty harmless," Logan smiled.
