Cadfael had come down the the clinic because it was one of the nurse's birthday and there was going to be a surprise party for her. What an interesting idea. Hiding and yelling "Surprise!" at a person and then having refreshments. The surprise party is at the lunch break... Which has been moved to after Cadfael observes Sext so "he can eat with them". In reality, the nurse who's birthday it is happens to be Catholic and will be distracted by the monk while everybody else sets up the party in the lobby.

Connor came into the clinic, in the hopes of finding Cadfael. Look! There he is. In a party hat. That was...interesting.

Cadfael looked up from his contemplation of the VERY sweet birthday cade.

The lobby is decorated with streamers and balloons. Cadfael is sitting at the front desk in a paper party hat looking down at a piece of birthday cake with one bite out of it.

It was so sweet, he thought his head was going to explode.

Screwtape hated this building as much as the one next door quite frankly.

And on top of it, he was greeted by a warrior of the Enemy's camp in... a paper party hat.

"... What are you waring?"

Marie carried Lana into the exam room and set her down on the bed, standing by her side and rubbing her sore shoulder.

Cadfael comes in with a nurse and begins to examine Lana's wounds.

"She's lost a lot of blood... I've seen that pallor before." he says in a low voice. "My goodness! What sort of animal attacked her?"

Harry has been gnawed on both arms and his right shoulder. There are also claw marks across his back, and possibly a nice bruise on his throat from the attempted strangulation.

Lana has a nasty concussion, multiple claw gashes on her arm and chest, and bite marks on her left arm. She's lost quite a bit of blood.
