GPS accuracy

Three years ago I bought a tracker for my cat, that idea have failed spectacularly thanks to gross inaccuracy of GPS tracking. I had it on me for a day as a test and it marked me as bouncing all over the city while I was sitting in my office ( Read more... )

this made me laugh :-)
A few years one of the grandsons decided to come for a sleepover. The reason was that he too was playing some Pokemon game and he had seen that in the neighbourhood where I lived he could cat many Poké-balls. So we did many walks with Max while he was doing what had to be don to catch these balls or bolls or whatever it was. He explained it to me with all the seriousness of a 12 year old, but I have to admit I have forgotten all about it, untill I read your entry. Thanks for bringing the memory back :-)

Glad you had a laugh. I think it is pretty funny too. And yes, I am a bit childish sometimes, when I can afford to.

Most likely it was the same game, it was a rage a few years ago. But back then I didn't have a phone it could be installed on.

I think we have to indulge our inner child from time to time. It keeps us happy and balanced :-)

Wow, it's interesting to see it's so inaccurate where you are. Meanwhile, my GPS tracking in Wizards Unite (the newly released Harry Potter game that works pretty much the same way as Pokémon GO), is so accurate, it's difficult to get enough kilometers in to open the items that require you to walk to be opened, hahaha (partly because WU so far doesn't support using stats from the phone's exercise feature, so you NEED to walk around with the game open, and I tend to forget).

At least your Pokémon egg hatching will be a breeze if you're getting kilometers in just by sitting still ;)

It was actually you who reminded me, when you have mentioned Wizards Unite. But I never really got into that fandom, so I got Pokemons.

And I have walked 2km in my sleep. :D
