That's what the_ogre posted on FaceBook last week, and I agree with him even more now than then.

Since Burning Man, a remarkable woman I used to date has died from it (stormyaustin, breast cancer); a current sweetie has had a second operation to deal with a tumour, including ( Read more... )

love and hugs. congrats about the job. I am sorry to hear about so many people in your life having cancer all at one time. My former mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor. I used to contribute $20 a quarter to the American Cancer Society and when she was diagnosed I told her to call them and they helped her a lot. It was nice to see where my donation actually went. More hugs T

Hmmm, yeah, I've just been thinking about all the causes I'll be able to donate to again once I'm back in the corporate world. I'll definitely add the ACS to the list. Thanks. And thanks for the hugs and congrats.

Oh, yes, I remember that now. Very sorry.

I'd love to have another one of our lunches or late-night-after-work dinners again some time. Let's get in touch soon.

The same woman who's hubby is about to enter hospice care that you mention above; possibly the same woman in England, ans a very close friend of mine in Portland. Thankfully, the last two have currently good prognoses.
And I'm very sorry to hear about your friends as well. This stuff is never easy.
*hugs*

Yeah, I just noticed the London friend in question is on both of our friends lists-cool that you know her. And yes, the progress is good news too. I've been filled in on the Portland situation-ugh, that's really awful as well. Sympathy.

BTW, this may be an odd time to say this, but that's a pretty cool userpic you've got there.

Hugs to you dear. I too recently found out that an old dear friend is dying of lymphoma and it sucks sucks sucks. I know we will both transition thru our trying times and grow from it. What more can be said? Sympathies for the pain.
