So it's been a while since I posted anything. Not as long as I usually go without posting when I disappear, but still long enough that I feel slightly guilty for not doing it ( Read more... )

You mean "The Proposal"? Unless you saw the movie in a different country (and I think California qualifies)where they change the titles of movies.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed "The Proposal" but then again, I'm such a sucker for Sandra Bullock I'll watch her in anything. And for the life of me I don't understand why my BiTD co-host hates on Ryan Reynolds. I think he's a pretty good actor. He's no Paul Newman but he's okay.

Saw "Away We Go" this past weekend and while I'm going to write a proper review of it for PULPWORK PRESS I can tell you right now that I think Maya Rudolph, John Krasinki and the director and writers should all get Oscar nominations. It's one of the most heartwarmingly funny movies I've seen all year. The characters played by Rudolph and Krasinki were people I enjoyed spending time with.

Gah! Yes, I meant "The Proposal" (which makes a lot more sense as a movie title, by the way), D. And I'm right in line with you on Ryan Reynolds. I'm pretty sure I've heard Tom's arguments before, and agree that his crude and crass Van Wilder, Hannibal King and Deadpool roles can be somewhat off-putting if that was, in actuality, all he did. But the guy actually does have range. Highly recommend "Definitely, Maybe" and "Chaos Theory" for evidence of that.

Had a feeling you'd like "Away We Go". I'm really glad I watched that movie, and I'm once again in 100% agreement with you concerning the picture. It was really funny and had some deeper emotional moments as well. Writers, actors and director all did a bang-up job with it.
