Oh Monday...

I was going to re-start teh 100-pushups challenge this week. I did the test yesterday, and I did 20! which puts me at level three. Yes, they were knee-pushups - I need to strengthen the tendons in my elbows before I can do any quantity of full-push-ups. But then I planted over 75 flowerbulbs in the front yard yesterday, and tore a giant chunk of ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear about the disappointing test results. Poor kitty.

It's all very stupid and frustrating.
Not quite as bad as your cat, I think, but a close second.
I'm very tempted to leave them at my moms house between now and Christmas. Except Elvis hates her.

At least, with my cat, I know the end isn't too far off. =)

I don't know. With the way Elvis's allergies are getting worse and worse, the end might not be too far off for him either...

I remember Quasar used to have those problems. It wasn't allergies of any sort, it was stress!! (I still don't understand how a cat that has a house all to themsleves could have been stressed, but whatever) We ended up getting her a plug-in de-stressing aroma therapy thing called "Felaway" (I think). We didn't get a chance to see if it worked for her, since we had to put her to sleep shortly afterwards due to kidney failure. She was over 18 years old.

But, the point is, have you discussed that option/possibility with your vet?

I know I've asked her in the past "Could this be anything else?" and remember her saying she didn't think it could be. We're close to the "go see a cat dermatologist" point though. Maybe? Might be worth picking up some Feliway just to see if that helps...

Poor Quasar....I loved that tubby little beasty.

I had another thought...
What are you using for litter?
Ymirs got a terrible skin problem when I tried a "natural" litter made of some kind of dusty crap.

Otherwise,.. kitty valium.
Or maybe take some yourself, you poor thing!

Hugs!

We've used three different kinds since all of this started. Originally we were using some clay stuff, then there was a very brief switch to Feline Pine which was HORRIBLE, now we use Natures Miracle.
I should get the list of stuff they tested him for from the vet.

I'd get the list... there are other folks online in forums having problems with cats allergic to either the corn or pine oil in it. They are chewing on themselves too, and losing fur.
