I had (have) a lot of miscellaneous cotton yarn, so I decided to make a grocery bag out of it. I really only use plastic grocery bags for cleaning the catbox; most of them end up piled up in the corner of the pantry, and none of the local stores take them for recycling anymore.

I like it! We used to have some net bags like that made out of some sort of plant-fiber string, when I was a kid, and I always admired how they'd shrink up tiny when not in use, but stretch out enormous when filled with stuff.

I'm experimenting with how big to make them initially, because I can't stretch them by hand nearly as much as, say, dropping a bunch of cans inside. This one has a lot more vertical stretch than I'd really like, but that just means that I'll use it mainly for light-but-bulky stuff like boxes of dog and cat treats.
