See, that's one thing that's begun to concern me about this place. What makes a person evil where I come from seems to differ completely from others. Or there are degrees.

So other than the fact that most of us are dead, is there nothing that unifies the Inmates, do you think? If this place is a punishment, as some view it, then some of us -- like you, I would argue -- appear to be here for much more arbitrary reasons than others.

I certainly wouldn't mind helping you at busy moments during your recovery, if your Warden is otherwise occupied. I rarely have anything to do in the evenings, and your work seems not entirely unlike a business I ran at home.

There has not been a formal introduction, no - but we have met very briefly over the bar, once or twice over the last week. Your magic allows you to be extremely dextrous, even with your back turned - I was quite impressed.

Only if nothing breaks my concentration. Normally, I have something of an advantage, a means to augment what I can do without much effort on my part, and I'm really, really out of practice when it comes to doing things without it.
