The Stink Smelled Around The World

My friends, you have no idea. NO IDEA. Take that smell and multiply it by a MILLION and you have the smell that has settled into every crevice of our house. It is quite possibly the ( Read more... )

I've been there - I've washed three dogs and a child that got skunked. (Not all at once, thankfully.) After a while you just sort of pray the stench cauterizes your sinuses, but it never works that way. :(

Been there, done that. Grew up in the countryside, remember? If the peroxide and baking soda doesn't work on the purse, its done for. So its probably done for. Sorry ( ... )

I've never been baptized by a skunk before, but this sounds like no fun at all. I hope you come home to a more pleasant smelling house and any damage is minor. Yikes!

Oh yes, been there with my dog growing up. My parents completely redid the bathroom because of that - he got a direct hit. Luckily, we don't have any skunks around here, so Bear has never been sprayed (he's an idiot - he'd try to make friends with a skunk).

Yup! Our former husky got skunked when we lived in Brighton. I let him out to pee (it was still dark) and he ran over to see the "black and white kitty". OOPS. I yelled for David who was still sleeping. He put the dog into his dog run and hosed him down. We ended up getting some stuff at Sam's Club or Costco that David's parents recommended that they used on their dog. It worked pretty well, but I swear I smelled it on him for weeks afterward. We did the peroxide/dishsoap/baking soda thing, too, but I think once that stench penetrates your nostrils, it's all over.
