The new Jem and the Holograms comic is one of the greatest things that has happened to my life in a long time. Like, I was predisposed to admire it based on the promo artwork alone, but it is cute and fun and a really lovely update to what is - let's be honest - a 30-minute toy commercial with a typically wacky '80s premise. Meh Rio's a two timer. Like the episode in which Jerrica gets ANOTHER personality and he dates that one >< Though you do make a good point.

Also, who're the two lesbians (just the two out or are there more? And I'm figuring Kimber is one of them?) and who is trans? TELL ME. I WANNA READ THE COMIC BUT DON'T HAVE THE MONEY.

I make it a policy to ignore every episode with the Stingers... particularly the hot mess that is "Midsummer Night's Madness". LOL

(Although it's worth pointing out that even Synergy is like, "Jerrica. Girl. He's in love with you. THREE TIMES.")

It's Kimber and Stormer - no surprise, that's been a popular fan theory for years. So far, the Misfits are furious that Stormer would consider dating a rival band member; the Holograms are just upset that Kimber keeps showing up late to gigs.

The trans character is new; her name is Blaze, and she's friends with Clash.

YOU REALLY NEED TO READ THE COMIC.

Though now I'm wondering if Kimberly is gonna be the same type as in the cartoon. AKA not really feeling like she needs a steady partner at the time. (And then we can watch Rio yell about things not really his business :P)

From issue 2:

Shana: "What's going on?"
Aja: "Kimber likes a girl."
Shana: "Must be Tuesday."

So I think that part of her character hasn't changed. LOL

Rio, on the other hand, has only just made the acquaintance of the Holograms (though true to canon he was immediately smitten with Jerrica) so I suspect it'll be a while before he starts kicking over plants re: Kimber's flightiness.
