So today I had to return a chainsaw. It was not a must have saw, handy to have around as a mid size saw. Now the question is do I replace it with a different model seeing that its the second one of the same model that has given me trouble or do I purchase another small saw for limbing and bucking  logs. Eventually I'll be getting both but which to

I'd be inclined to buy the saw that I would need / use the most. Does this particular type of saw come in another brand? I'm thinking a similar 'purpose built ' saw - not necessarily the same size. I seem to have a similar problem with weed-whackers. None of them have survived my loving care. I'm not sure switching to an electric or a battery powered model would improve my luck and I've go too many spots around the place to accommodate one with an electrical cord.
