HP Fanart - omniocular challenge

Feb 01, 2006 23:14

For the January challenge at omniocular. Let's ignore the fact that today's already February, shall we?

Characters: Dumbledore, Draco and Grabbe-and-Goyle girls
Rating: G
Medium: pencils again. I'm getting very repetitive with what I draw and how I draw it, have been for a while now, but somehow I don't know how to get out of it. I don't want to draw stuff ( Read more... )

Your Dumbledore is the coolest. Also, I love your pencil work...I don't think there's anything wrong with re-using the same elements if they work really well.

Thank you, hon. I like drawing Dumbledore - I can go wild with robe designs without having to wonder if it's too unusual for the Character to wear. Though of course you don't see much of his robes because of all his hair ;)

I guess it's not wrong, but if even I am bored by a certain thing, it's a clear sign to stay clear of it for a while, don't you think?

:D

Well, I personally think you should work on more canvases! CANVASES, CANVASES, colorful CANVASES!

Yeah and in my next Biology lesson I'm going to install an easel in the back of the classroom ;D

But I guess you're right, i really should work more with paints.

What's cool is that when I looked at this, I saw Draco flanked by small ghosts of Snape and of his father on either side of him! It wasn't until I saw the caption that I realized they were supposed to be polyjuiced Crabbe and Goyle!

:D Now, this is something completely new, interesting idea, though.

Thanks for stopping by <3!

Holy cow . . why only to comments here 0.o
This is amazing, especially the details, and you've got such emotion in Dumbledore's face.

I lvoe the varying textures too. Dumbledore's beard seems almost silken, for example, and the students robes look like a courser cloth. And that's not even going into the stone walls!

Really really nice!

Probably because there are some more at omniocular. And probably because people are bored by the same things I am ;)

I'm glad you like it, though!
I love drawing textures, but the only medium I manage to get them right are pencils and perhaps to some extent coloured pencils, too. I'm hopelessly lost where watercolour or ink is concerned :(

Thank you very much, Ani!

I'm in awe of the light and shading and texture of this picture, as well as the very cool composition. I just keep staring at it - it's beautiful!
