I use the patch. so I answered the primary reason question and the one after it with that in mind.
I ticked two equally important reasons. I had become disturbingly irregular (one was in the first week of october and then the next one was Jan 2nd. Prior to that it was two months between or something) so I wanted to be on an actual cycle again, and while I wasn't sexually active, I wanted to be on HBC of some form before I did.
of the women who have told me their BC methods, I actually only know two women at the moment who are taking the pill (one is on it because she had an ovarian cyst and her doctor wants her to be on hormones to help prevent losing her other ovary. the other is on the pill because she doesn't think she'd like the way the patch feels.) the others are using IUDs, Nuvaring, or the patch.

The changes of going off the pill are odder then when I went on them: I dropped about 10 lbs, no longer have eating binges once a month and my anxiety levels have dropped. However - I get angry really, really fast.
Most people I know have recently gone off because of age (most docs seem to recommend switching from the pill to other forms at 35), trying to have kids, have tubes tied, or have always used other forms of contraceptives. Most are in long-term relationships as well.
