gakked from AQ and havoc:

The Hypothetical AU Meme: Take any one of the fandoms you know I write in, and give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, Ancient Rome, Regency England, etc). I will then explain what story from your chosen fandom I would write for your chosen type of AU.I only have written fic for Enterprise, SGA and ( Read more... )

this is really hard given the painful lack of female characters on SGA miera_c March 28 2008, 21:19:57 UTC
Bearing in mind that I have decided someday in the future Willow and Xander end up together because that's my damn story and I'm sticking to it and I hated Wesley/Fred because she was so not cool enough for him, and I really didn't like the Buffy/Spike story very much and I'm not fond of Teyla/Ronon either ( ... )

And omg, now I'm imagining Shep/Weir in that wishverse and my brain went boom.

Woah.

Ooh. So many AUs! So little time! Will you beat me if I ask for SGA in ancient Rome fic? ETA: AU. Fic. You know what I meant!

Hrm. I can't come up with any way to do this, since there would not be any Japanese people in the country at the time, let alone a Japanese woman on her own. Also Travis would almost certainly be a slave. :(

*sigh* Oh well. It did get me in a Malcolm/Hoshi mood, though, and I found a tolerably good fic to read while I eat my I-hate-being-a-woman munchies. So... not a total loss. ;-)

I guess I don't really stop and think about ethnicities in these historical AUs so much as characters. This might be the fault of Denzel Washington playing a Spanish prince in Much Ado About Nothing. ;-)

EDIT: Mely points out he could have had some Moorish blood. Pfft. Figures she'd blast holes into my stellar example, even if it was a long-shot sort of hole... darn her!! LOL

I could've worked around the Travis thing somehow but I know Japan was closed to all foreigners until the mid-1800s and that's tripping me up. And Hoshi is one of my favorite characters on the show! *sob*

Malcolm/Hoshi FTW! Did you ever read my M/H stuff? It's not online any more, of course...

How about SGA characters/personalities transplanted into a sweet workplace sitcom setting? (Sue me, I have become filled with Miss Guided love, just in time for my observation to collapse its indeterminate renewal/cancellation waveform and make sure it never returns to TV...)

I'm trying to remember the last sitcom I watched regularly.

It might be "Sports Night."

(Me and sitcoms don't go well together in general. Though everyone keeps telling me I should watch "Scrubs.")

Scrubs is surprisingly awesome for a sitcom. I actually enjoy it, and I loathe most sitcoms.

Sometimes I get the feeling Scrubs is a drama that masquerades as a SitCome or the other way round not sure kind of like MASH
