Yeah, consent issues abound. Most fanfic I see with this cliche goes to the "it's an excuse for us to do it!" route rather than deal with the alternatives.

Like, John followed Elizabeth all the way to her bedroom. That action speaks volumns considering he could have had any freakin' person he wanted between the control room and her bedroom. But he showed restraint - until he got to Lizzie, of course. *fans self*

But ever since "The Long Goodbye" I've had this half-formulated fic idea where Pheobus captures John (after Thalan has convulsed out of his body) and then kinda does a whole dominating thing that involves John being tied to a bed while Pheobus pries confessions loose from John's lips about his feelings for Elizabeth.)

Hrm. I am intrigued. It would be interesting since Thalan is gone at that point, so Pheobus wouldn't get the satisfaction she wants if she just killed John. But he's the closest she could get to Thalan at that point.

Plus, John looks very nice when he's tied up. ;)
