HELLO LJ! Oh, man, it feels to good to be able to click my Chrome icon and have it actually work!

So, clearly I'm okay, if a bit stir crazy from the near cold turkey withdrawal from the web. I do have my iPhone, but Safari sucks and closes down on me when I try to load pages. I'm in a hotel in NYC at the moment with anathema91 - we went to the Big Bang

I'm so glad to hear you got to your concert and things are looking up. We got our power back last (Thursday) night, but the transformer was messed up so only half the house had power for close to 24 hours. Sheesh. Major major LIPA fail (to say the least).

I'm really surprised that Verizon's saying it's going to take so long -- our landlines have worked all the way through, but I've seen Verizon trucks everywhere (unlike those mythical things known as LIPA trucks). So maybe they'll get to you sooner than expected? *fingers x'd

So pleased to hear you're okay. As a fellow natural disaster survivor (Christchurch Earthquake) I wish you luck and send hugs and love.

And advice. Check your insurance policy and get in touch with them RIGHT now. The noisey squeaky wheels get oiled. That is just the way of the world.

Be aware things will take a long long time to get back to anything like normal. Look after your family and friends, check on your neighbours and take the good things when you can get them. Congrats on having some internet and power. Enjoy.
