You know what? I have been sending my laundry out since I moved to Manhattan in 1995. I spent about two minutes thinking about other people washing and folding my underwear. Then I spent another two minutes thinking about how awesome it is that I hand her a bag of dirty, wadded up clothes, and I get back a bag of clean, neatly folded clothes that night. It is the best thing I do for myself. Seriously, better than pedicures. You'll get used to it. It rocks.
