Can I cry now? In a good way.

I meant to read more before the reveal, but oh well. This was lovely and poignant and sad in its way, and happy at the same time. I REALLY especially liked the image of Andromeda and Harry as family. (Especially since my personal canon can't come to pass and Remus's dad can't marry her....) And I loved Sirius trying to hold the baby. It reminds me of an old photo we have of my grandfather bringing my dad home from the hospital and holding him exactly how you described. (My grandmother always thought that picture was hysterical.)

Aww... obviously not canon anymore, but that's a really cute idea. :) I keep wanting to write Andromeda/Moody, and then remembering he's dead as well.

I really love the idea of Harry and Andromeda growing close, and not just because of the circumstances of Teddy, and Tonks' death. I always wished we'd met her earlier in canon (especially because of Sirius), but I really loved how she was introduced with Harry nearly mistaking her for Bellatrix.

You know, my friend's husband was like that, too! Afraid he'd drop his daughter on her head. Men can be so amusing sometimes. :-P

Aw. Lovely. I particularly like the detail of Teddy having to wear a cap so that the muggles aren't freaked out by his colour changing.

Whoops, hit "post" too soon. I also really like Sirius' hesitation to be godfather, coupled with his absolute dedication to the Potters.

And Teddy's hair - I was picturing the scene in my head and realized he'd better wear a cap or else he would totally freak the Muggles out! Ah, details.

I've written Harry and Teddy twice now - Teddy as a baby and as a teen, and I just can't get the notion out of my mind that Teddy would be everything to Harry, not only out of a sense of duty, but because he knows exactly what Teddy would feel, all of his life. The absence and the yearning, and even occasionally the self-pity. And he'd want to be all of the things Sirius had wanted to be for him - and all the things he'd wanted Sirius to be for him as well.

As soon as I read Min's ficlet, I knew right away exactly how I wanted to remix it - the parallels and differences between the two godfathers, and the circumstances around them both was too tempting to ignore, and I was rather pleased with how it turned out.
