Kyoto is much much smaller than Tokyo and it avoided being bombed during World War Two, so there's a lot more older things that survived.

Yet more Kotor photoshops.
This is the image I was bitching about having too many layers in #kfm. It ended up as two hundred and seventeen layers, not including font stuff. Something like eight or nine hours of really boring not-creative-at-all work, but the drudgery is probably good for me.

Strength, gender, brats and falsehood.
The thread about "strong female Revans" got me thinking about how people perceive strength and weakness in a character. Yesterday I was disturbed to read this article, which suggests to me that Austen's characters would not be valued by modern press and publishers. Gaming cliches and features I'm tired of, annoyed with and pissed at.
(I've seen most of these done well, I've just seen them done so many times they make me groan.)
- "I am your father's brother's cousin's former roommate." Big bad bosses with ridiculously tenuous connections to the main character: e.g. "I'm going to kill you because your mother looked funny at me once!"
