Awwwwwwww *melts*

That was so cute and adorable. I loved how Sephiroth was completely out of depth and basically had no idea what to do, to the point of needing Minako's help. I found the way you jumped around in different time periods very interesting, although it was a bit confusing when I was reading it at midnight without any sleep. XD

And I found it poignant how the two of them kept "hurting" each other without even meaning to. I winced along with Sephiroth when Hotaru made that comment about roses being a weapon; I'm impressed that he didn't just abandon the whole idea then. ^^

Best line in the whole thing has to be, "Would you like to go on one? If not, we can always go back to slamming each other into the ground." Ahahaha, oh Sephiroth, you romantic you. And of course, the perv in me took that in an entirely different way... ;-)

This one was really fun to write and actually came really easily. I'm sorry if it was a bit confusing at first. I had thought that by putting the little dashes in you'd get that I was switching either view points or time periods. I always see their relationship as starting rather awkwardly. Sephiroth's really cynical and for Hotaru, the whole idea of anyone ever expressing a romantic interest in her is foreign. Both are naturally reserved and naive in "the ways of love." Also they're still uncertain of their feelings for each other, and the "witty repartee" between the two of them is a way to cover that. Hotaru's always used to Sephiroth being insulting and rude, so she's always trying to get back at him. So in the process of that they sometimes end up accidentally "hurting" one another ( ... )

No worries, I think I was just too sleepy at the time to figure out what was going on. ^^ And I like your ideas about their first date and how they would interact! I have slightly different visions of how it would work, but then that's because my version of them getting together is in a different situation than yours (more end-of-world shiznit, more angst, more self-flagellation from Sephiroth, etc). I usually see them skipping the whole dating step altogether and going straight from "I respect you so much and you make me feel great and what is this funny feeling in my chest/loins whenever I'm with you?" to "SUDDEN EXPLOSION DUE TO ROMANTIC/SEXUAL REPRESSION *kisskiss* *smut*", then followed by, "Oh god, why did I do that, now I know how I feel but he/she must hate me," then settling nicely into, "I love you, you love me, let's be together forever. ^^" Having said that, I also find your version absolutely adorable. ^^ I love the awkwardness and yet the total sincerity behind both of them ( ... )
