Her pulse was racing too fast, she felt light-headed, her cheeks felt hot, and she felt like she couldn’t catch

No worries, I think I was just too sleepy at the time to figure out what was going on. ^^ And I like your ideas about their first date and how they would interact! I have slightly different visions of how it would work, but then that's because my version of them getting together is in a different situation than yours (more end-of-world shiznit, more angst, more self-flagellation from Sephiroth, etc). I usually see them skipping the whole dating step altogether and going straight from "I respect you so much and you make me feel great and what is this funny feeling in my chest/loins whenever I'm with you?" to "SUDDEN EXPLOSION DUE TO ROMANTIC/SEXUAL REPRESSION *kisskiss* *smut*", then followed by, "Oh god, why did I do that, now I know how I feel but he/she must hate me," then settling nicely into, "I love you, you love me, let's be together forever. ^^" Having said that, I also find your version absolutely adorable. ^^ I love the awkwardness and yet the total sincerity behind both of them.

By the way, I also forgot to mention that I loved - LOVED - the bit where Sephiroth was approaching Minako for advice, and struggling to find the right words that expressed his interest without betraying too much of himself. ANd I also loved how Minako just turned around and summed it up so succinctly. I don't know why, but I always find the idea of Minako meddling in their relationship (or even just watching from a distance) absurdly cute. She's not my favorite of the Inners (probably Usagi is) but she's just so bubbly and romantic that I can't help but love her as a cameo. ^^
