EDIT: This poll keeps getting tied!

EDIT 2: Since one of them was finally winning for a bit, I decided to close the poll. Cougar Town it is!

Can't stand shows with a laugh track. I instantly have to change the channel. Plus I've heard good things about Cougar Town. And it sort of pisses me off what his face won at the Globes and Emmys instead of Alec.

+1 about laugh track. They have no place in tv anymore.

Cougar Town is actually a really funny show. I somehow ended up loving it more than Modern Family which was surprising to me.

"+1 about laugh track. They have no place in tv anymore." Thank you for saying that! People tend to think I'm being totally unreasonable when I literally get up and leave the room when confronted with effing laugh track shows. They need to be gone!

Cougar Town > Modern Family? Wow, that says a lot. Maybe I'll start netflixing it too lol.

Hands down Cougar Town. It's delightful, although it takes a while to get into its groove in the first season and I am not really feeling the second half of the second season.

But TBBT was charming in the first two seasons. Then the third season had really horrible writing and I felt they were just trying to rely on Parsons to get laughs.

I saw the pilot to CT for a class, and I wanted to murder something after it. BBT has a laugh track, yes, but it is also genuinely charming.

I actually didn't like the CT pilot at all, either, when I saw it a while back, but I've heard it gets much, much better so I'm willing to give it another chance.

ngl, I first started to think, "I should give that show another try" when Abed's love of it became a thing on the show.

Honestly I want to murder The Big Bang Theory. I guess I haven't seen it ALL, which everyone I naysay it to tells me I MUST, but I can't see the point of seeing it all when I've seen four or five episodes and I still want to murder it. I mean isn't that like a big enough sample? It's got an occasionally good moment, sure, but frankly it seems to me that it's a show written about nerds by people who have only the faintest stereotypical notions of what it's like to actually BE a nerd, so I dislike it. And I know some legit nerds actually do like the show, but most of the people whom I personally know who like the show are not real nerds, either, and I want to grab them by the shoulders and shake them and say, this is not right. This is not what nerds are really like. I don't know. Saying they get it right occasionally doesn't make me feel better. It's like saying George W. Bush occasionally made a good decision.

I think it's a big enough sample, at least when you hate something. I have not given shows another chance after one episode if I have a really bad reaction to it... but usually those are shows that everyone ends up hating so I don't get pressured to go back to it. (I did have a bad reaction the first episode of Cougar Town, and dropped it right away, actually. But if it's gotten its stuff together, I will give it another go.)

I've heard that before, that it's a show written about nerds by people who have only the faintest stereotypical notions of what it's like to actually BE a nerd. It does make me kind of wary of it.
