Housefic for simple__man

For simple__man; a very, very belated recompensation for the beautiful drabbles and House-y goodness. ♥

Warning for longness and some dubious smut intimacy between doctors. Also unbeta'd, so expect some truly horrendous spelign misstakces.

I haven't even finished reading yet, but "unkempt and sinister visage" is the shit. I love you just for that. Kung pao chicken and secret agents, seriously, are the male cure-all ( ... )

Siiigh. ♥

You make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I loved writing this; for some reason House is really easy for me to write, but I never had the time to just sit down in front of the computer and type it all out. You're a saint for putting up with my tardiness. ^_^ And you're a saint for writing this review! Eeeh, people are looking at me funny being I'm making little giggling noises and clasping my hands together excitedly. You're such a gratifying audience. *adores* Much love to you from this corner, too! ♥ ♥

Aw, good! Your fic gave me warm fuzzies. I actually quoted that "fresh-faced zombie" bit to K. You should write House more often, in fact, I demand that you do, and go post it at house_wilson. Tell them I sent you. *nodnodnod*

Not a saint at all, def worth the wait! And reviewing was my pleasure. I'm glad you were able to get something out of that rambling thing *eyes review askance* It scares me....*hides from teh ramble*

Why thank you dear! It's a lovefest over here!! *hugs* Really, thank you so much.

? Aw, wow. I get nervous just thinking about you the great authors there. But if I'm sent... I mean, your wish is my command. XD Consider it pimped. With a lovig dedication. ♥

Am ridiculously flattered to be quoted. And to K, no less! *fans self* I feel faint with excitement. ^_-

Rambling rambles of ramblenessishity are my best literate friends. XD As witnessed in my writing. Your rambling review delights me utterly. I shall cherish it evermore. *hugs back* ;D

This rocks. It's energetic and funny, and House and Wilson are pitch-perfect. I especially like House's appraisal of divorce!Wilson, the shifting tones of their conversation in Two, and Wilson's exasperation in the kitchen. Yeah, a couple of typos ("soliliquy," "physically possibly," "says is" rather than "says in"), and I think the story would benefit from fewer references to all the terminal cancer patients, but that stuff hardly detracts from the awesomeness of what you've written. Thanks for posting at house_wilson!

Thank you! The typoes have been fixed, and your criticism is warmly welcomed. It's a great pleasure joining the community (don't know what took me so long). I hope to contribute more soon. ;)

If simple__man recommends, then I read.

This is quite good, with nice little situations and excellent House and Wilson voices.

There was one sentence that clunked a little to me:

Wilson has been snappish, withdrawn, and haggard lately, taking on patients like Christmas presents (which he doesn't celebrate, but Jews don't give presents in any case) and sleeping on the couch in his office.

I'm sure you were referring to Christmas, but it's the "in any case" that makes it a little off, because Jews do give presents at Hanukkah. Still, that's a small nitpick, and overall this is very good, and I would definitely read more of your stories.

Welcome to house_wilson!

[jumping in] Oh, I read that as one of House's semi-offensive yet horribly funny racial/religious jokes, about how Jews don't give presents because they're cheap. Maybe it was just me there...

Actually, bironic is right; I did aim to make that a House-esque stereotypical racial joke at Wilson's expense. ;) If the message wasn't clear, though, it's my failure as a writer. Hopefully my House!snark will improve with experience. *g*

(For the record, I'm an Israeli Jew myself, so if I make any Jewish jokes, it isn't racism, just poking a little fun at my heritage. ;D)

Ah, I see now. As I said, it was just the "in any case" that threw me.

I'm not Jewish, but my husband is, so I tend to notice some sentences a little more.

:-D

I really loved this. It is so very Wilson and House, in each of the interactions.

A teeny bit of crit: You should keep a close eye on your spacing, especially in One, Two, and Five. I could tell you wanted new paragraphs, but you didn't quite get there.

Nonetheless, like bironic said, it was really an awesome piece. *mems* and *puts you on the to-watch list,* meaning *friends.*

Thank you! I'm very pleased people like this. *preens newbie ego* And the criticism is cherished; usually I write for small, rare fandoms, so getting constructive feedback is a wonderfully new experience. I see what you mean about the paragraphs, and though I doubt I'll change it anytime soon (re-reading my own fics makes me go "argh! graugh! awful!"), I'll certainly take it into consideration in future attempts. ;)

Likewise, I'm ridiculously immensely honored at the friending--thanks so much! Mind if I friend you back? ♥

Absolutely, I love mutual friends! I tend to post stuff as I work on it as friends-only, so you'll get a preview. And this community is generally great at constructive feedback. :)

There's friendly links in my journal to all my completed Housefic. I was newbie not so long ago, and I've already started a 100_situations Housefic challenge--this Housefic thing is addictive. (I'm also perspicacious on TWoP.)
