The Doctor regenerated into a woman in The Curse of Fatal Death - the Rowan Atkinson Comic Relief special. Joanna Lumley had Dalek bumps! :)

I know! The last few moments of the show had me going 'huh?' I never thought of River being the human version of the tardis though, that would be neat. Love how the Doctor got back in the past again around the time of the moon landing, although this time *with* the tardis. I wonder if he can sense himself, trying to avoid his own timelines and all that.
