Oh, this was so heart breakingly perfect. I loved Rory's inability to confide in her mother and family, as well as Jack's words sticking in her mind. The character development was solid, and I can't wait to see how she shakes things up at Stargate Command.

Thanks so much for giving us so much fic in such a short time, I can't wait for the next installment!

Rory's problem stems from taking too much on herself - if she just *told* Lorelai about the whole Rodney thing... but alas. Dramatic irony attacks.

I am really enjoying this vacation time. Writing is fun :)

Can't wait for the next installment. *seat bouncing*
I like the stargate bits better but I didn't watch Gilmore Girls it was too sappy for me :) (that didn't sound like criticism did it because it so wasn't)

More soon :D

The Gilmore Girls part in this is really centred on this chapter. We have a lot of on-screen Rory character development, so anything you need to know is going to be in the story :)

And don't worry. I don't do sappy. Chaotic and action-packed, yes. Plus explosions.

...when everything came together and made sense in a flash of light and the sharp pain in her head, she'd been looking for more.

Ooh, ooh, someone's been meddling! I thought that was where you were going last chapter, and now with this...

Rory may not be crazy, but I can see why everyone thinks so. You've written her fragility so beautifully, I can just see the cracks under the surface. It's obvious to everyone else just how disconnected from the world that she's become, but she's just not seeing it. Your depiction of this is breathtaking.

You have discovered my carefully hidden in plain sight plot! Something is going on, but how much is Rory and how much is not is going to be something to see.

Rory's fragility is very much echoed in the extreme repetition of the glass in this one. She's really seeing herself in her surroundings. I know, not subtle, but then again, she's so far lost that she isn't really seeing what's in front of her.

Hopefully getting to the SGC will shock some sense into her.

And perhaps I should just get to writing it :D

Re: Yay! The new epic!!! mhalachaiswords December 29 2007, 19:58:58 UTC
The flash of light and science!Rory will all be explained... it's all integral to the plot-type thingy.

Writing Rory is always interesting. In the show, she was always an outsider in any situation, in Stars Hollow, at Chilton, then at Yale (with the blond kid). Always an enjoyable literary technique, writing the outsider. And now she's a little wonko, which adds to the fun :)

More soon!

So Rory has taken the next step. I'm surprised Lorelai hasn't figured out something but then again probably hasn't taken a look at what Rory's been doing other then asking her about it.

and we are one step closer to those two meeting. :) Which is what I'm looking forward to;)

Usually, with Lorelai, Rory tells her everything, but in this case Rory can't bring herself to mention the biggest problem (about Rodney) and that is causing the lack of communication. Plus Rory's math brain is making her a little less coherent than normal.

We have a few sections until the meeting, as I need to first get Rory through the SGC in a somewhat plausible way. But soon :D

That's what I figured. They never had this problem before (except with Jess for awhile, but they got over that) so Lorelai doesn't think to investigate.

I have a feeling that Lorelai will have fit when she finds out, and of course Emily will be around to hear it and Richard will have to keep the two Gilmore women from committing murder.

Well, if she has the ability to figure out the ZPM perhaps she would do well to be on Atlantis trying to figure a way to recreate them so they can develop thier own ZPMs and defend the city better.
