Oh man, I am so late for a party. But that's okay. Here, have some fanfic with a very ironic icon.

Never Lie Down
A Stargate SG-1/Firefly crossover
Characters: All of them!
Disclaimer: MGM/UA, Gekko Productions et al. own all things Stargate SG-1. Joss Whedon et al. own Firefly. I'm only borrowing and will return them at the end of the fic.

fic: firefly, type: standalones but not drabbles, type: ficlette fiasco, fic: stargate sg1

Loved it, damn it.

Now I gotta start watching firefly. I'm starting to hate crossovers as much as I love them. It's because of crossovers that I'm now into so many fandoms outside of the animes I started with.

Just so you know, your writing is now classed as a weapon of psycholgical additction.

Hee. I win.

You're lucky with Firefly. It's only one season (less than a season, really) and a movie. It's great television. Really, really well done.

Eeeeeexcellent. My plan for world domination is progressing nicely.

Damn.

That's a fascinating premise - and I can't wait to see what happens next.

but... I'm done. Sort of. Maybe. Not really sure. I was when I ended writing today, but as with all my writing, I had An Idea to continue this. Hmm. We'll see how things go, that's the only thing I can promise :)

I know nothing about Firefly, had never even heard of it before seeing your River icon, but this story sounds pretty good. Think you can fill me in on the important bits so I'm not so lost?

The important bits: The people involved are the crew of a ship names Serenity. The bad creatures are called Reavers, truely terrifying things. They used to be human, but a failed drug experiment on a planet made them crazy, pillaging space cannibals.

River is the girl, a superhero of sorts. Not supernatural like Buffy, but she was warped into an assasin by the government. She's also a "reader" or a telepath. In the show, she was only able to read minds, not speak to others, but I changed things up a bit here.

Any help? Or am I making a muddle of things?

Thanks, that does clear things up a bit.

Oh this was love! River was just that perfect touch of insane when she was talking about Simon, and the masss confusion was so well written; I could see it perfectly.
It'd be so interesting to see a sequel to this, or even a prequel! It could be made into a very nifty little series of one-shots.

River was just that perfect touch of insane when she was talking about Simon,

She's teetering on the edge of insanity on the best of days. Simon is her rock. He saved her, he keeps saving her. He's the one constant in her life. I can really see her losing her grip on reality if he were to die (in a Reaver attack, too)

and the masss confusion was so well written; I could see it perfectly.

It's the hardest thing to write; a million things happening at once. I just threw up my hands and wrote it like Daniel saw it: left to right across the gateroom. It worked better this way, I think, espeically with people Daniel didn't know. He didn't have that much of an emotional attachmenet with the people who were being eaten alive, unlike, say, if it was SG1. Easier to be the Seer when it's not your friends.

Interesting idea about the prequel... :) Maybe one day.

I've made an executive decision that you're just kidding about the "the end" bit because this rules and should continue. But not before you write more Inevitable and Balancing Act.

But anyways. Hmmm... Daniel/River is it? Oooo, I'm excited. ^_^

Hee hee. I like how you think. And I'm not ruling out the possibility of more. Sometime.

But not before you write more Inevitable and Balancing Act.

You're in my head, I swear. I wasn't planning on it, at least not yet. I'm thinking of something for after Inevitable is done. 14 chapters to go.
