Coffee - that's great! Very fitting conclusion, and I loved Simon's reaction.

I just couldn't help myself with the coffee, considering how much time I spent at sTarbucks typing this story out :)

I'm glad you liked the story.

You wrapped this up nicely. But I still want more. Maybe after Inevitble and Switchback and the Drabbles and everything else you've got going on.

Seriously, you have such a marvelous talent for character voice. You crossed two series that your average fan would have claimed couldn't be crossed, and you made it real.

Thanks!

More, huh? Isn't that the mark of a good story, satisfying yet leaving the reader wanting more? Or something.

Seriously, you have such a marvelous talent for character voice. You crossed two series that your average fan would have claimed couldn't be crossed, and you made it real.

I always did like a challenge. K, really, I'm using these fanfics in an effor to improve my writing before starting on some original stuff. You know, writing without repeating words, withouth excess commas, trying to get a rhythem down. I'm getting there, I think. Plus, all this writing is doing wonders for my imagination.

Thanks so much for your comments and support on this strange, strange crossover of mine.

Anita inspires thoughts of violence in everyone, that's why.

What's very strange is that I wrote the whole story before I saw the movie. I didn't even look at spoilers. Does that mean I'm turning into Joss Whedon? Scary.

Maybe one day I'll write some more little short pieces in this 'verse. I'll let you know :D

... And the crowd shouted out two words, not as individuals, but with one voice. And those words were: "Sequel, please!" ^_^

After all, a captain/crew that will keep their mouths shut - and are at least *tolerant* of the preternatural (River) - is a valuable resource to Preternatural Underground. Maybe one day they'll have a trio of passengers named Meng Die, Harry, and Luna? :-S

To be (a bit) more serious, I loved the bit with the coffee. Anita might have seen the passing of more than five centuries, and was one of those left behind to die on the nearly-barren Earth, but she's still a coffee fiend.

It was also nice to learn, through River, that Anita does have other blood-kin due to Erin's descendants. Although the idea of Anita acting as (insert a few "greats" in here, quite possibly) as a Grandma nearly caused some mental breakage. I mean, can't you just *see* it? "Grandma, Jason won't let me play with his knives!"

Oh, man. The thought of Luna as Meng Die's human servant is truely frightening.

I'm not sure about a sequel. This story is told, to a certain extent. But now I know that the story is being well received. That's always good to know.

I couldn't help myself with the Erin thing. Being a Zeeman, it's perhaps not surprising that Erin had several children, which in turn did the same. Or course, on a more serious note, with Anita's blood and the family ability to read minds, guess who got left back on earth in the exodus?

Anita as mother is hard enough. As grandmother many times over.... eek.

As always, glad you enjoyed yourself. I'll get to your comment in the last chapter in a bit; need to get the laundry done first.

What can I say, I've never been that fond of the idea of the "Weasleys Triumphant!" ship. (Even though I saw the potential for it by the end of HPSS/HPPS. Assuming that Harry and - even though she's probably in *less* danger - Hermione survive long enough in book seven.) And, while I can't say that Bi!Harry isn't possible, I've read too many Gay!Harry fics (including just about every other HP/AB crossover) not to lean the other way. Plus, if Richard (and his morality) is the stone that Jean-Claude has to carry around, why *shouldn't* Meng Die have to deal with Luna's ... unique point of view? ^_^

And it's pretty much a given, IMO, that any one who has Anita as an ancestor would have been in the "leave 'em behind!" list, during the exodus.

The idea of R/Hr and H/G makes sense in a world where they get married so very young, especially with the House prejudices and such a small society. But I think you will appreicate what I do with our dear Harry in several chapters of Inevitable.

I think Luna's only a little ecentric, the way teenagers who want to be different are. But very, very perceptive.

Ah, Inevitable. A story I shall soon need to get back to.

Thanks! I have to admit, I haven't seen any other Firefly/AB crossovers out there. And I always like to chart new territory.
