Yes, Mal. Magical, wonderful beans!

Trust Anita to have a bag of coffee wherever she goes. And I imagine the crew will find someone willing to buy a little black-market coffee, especially since it hasn't been roasted yet (possibility of growing coffee plants? I never tried with the beans I got from my tree, but it might work...). Happy ending all round!

A fitting end to the story - ultimately, on Firefly, passengers move on. Gotta keep flyin'. I do want to know more about your 'verse, though, so if a sequel/prequel/tangentally-related idea pops into your head, please give it room to grow!

Considering that the plant was pretty much all over on earth, I always fancied that someone in the family took up coffee farming once the rest of humanity left :)

This was always planned to be a short interlude in the lives of Serenity's crew, not changing anything but Mal's perspecive on River. And, of course, the future!Anita story. If anything comes up, I'll let you know.

Coffee does solve all our problems, doesn't it?

Thank you :)

Loved it. If there is a sequel, I can't wait! In the mean time, can't wait for your other stories, especially Switchback.

GaGa GeGiGoo Brrrrprrrrppr MeMiMaMoMaMA!

I think you just fried my brains by the brilliance of your story en total. Someone should do a study...On The Effects Of FanFiction Radiation on the Brain. With so many brilliant stories, is it any wonder that my brain is shocked senseless, my jaw has aquired a permanant droop and my eyes may never close or stop scanning left to right again?

Serious, serious love. I read this all today since I'd seen Serenity and had a clue about the people. Your voicing and characterization for the Firefly set were brilliant. Diction was perfect for each, even the AB group (but that's a usual standard for you, of course). Very intruiging plot, with just enough mystery that we're left wanting, searching, dreaming of a sequel. When I initially heard of this cross I was rather WTF? But, in typical Mhalachai fashion, you reminded us readers that Human Servants last a damn long time under optimal circumstances. The back mythology is very clever- and reasonable for this situation. All in all, two thumbs up, plus a few fingers, and some toes. Fanatasic.

Thanks so much! After I read this, I was grinning like a fool for several minutes (so it's good that I'm hidden behind a wall of monitors here at work).

I deliberatly decided to tell this story from the crew's POV because it added to the mystery, and that was the main factor in the story. If Anita had a chapter, we would have known that JC was in the box and who Erin was and what Anita had to do to get JC back. There would have been no real point in writing the story from Anita's POV. (Well, there would be a point, but it would be a much different story).

As for the idea of a Firefly/Anita Blake crossover... trust me, I decided I had gone 'round the bend to have even attempted such a thing. But it seems to have worked. And don't you know to trust my fic ideas by now? (I'm kidding, of course).

Very intruiging plot, with just enough mystery that we're left wanting, searching, dreaming of a sequel.

Perhaps. One day, after the other things are finished, maybe.

Of course I know you'll sell me on the crossover- you always do. Talk about skill! Mystery is good- and I totally see why you set it up the way you did- worked for me, anyway.

I had guessed that it was either JC or Damian in the box but wasn't sure which- pleasant surprise to see Damian in charge, offscreen. And I loved your family presentation. I guess even Anita and Richard could figure things out if they had 500 years, give or take.

Part of the mystery, too, was for me to stretch my Firefly skills. I had never written a FF fic before. Funny, that. (Also funny is that I only watched the DVDs two months ago. Oh, Joss, I love you).

I'm glad the family came across okay. I tried not to make Ashley too!cute! while maintaining him as a young child.

And Anita and Richard... you know, I think they could work in a family unit if they had a referee (JC, for example). If I ever write the Erin backstory, you'll see how that goes :D
