Can this year be over yet?

It has been a very long time since I've updated. I got to the first Thursday of Nano, and decided that for my sanity and stress I was doing what I could and not caring about meeting the 50K goal. I got to 24,500 of so words, and have a good start on a SF novel that might not actually be done until January or later ( Read more... )

I cant begin to fathom the amount of work moving abroad must take - it was bad enough planning our 6 months away! Good luck over the next month, keep us posted!

Well luckily the US Navy moves people overseas a good deal, so they know what to do. It's the jumping through the proper paperwork hoops, in the right order, etc, that's been most annoying.

I can understand being busy. 2011 is just around the corner.:)

You're right about Southerners and travel.:) Moving to Charleston from North Carolina was the biggest move I ever made, and I'm itching to get back to NC.:) But I love to travel, as long as I can come home.

I'm not sure 2011 will get much less busy until maybe April, but...

And yes, every Southerner I've talked to that has traveled enjoyed themselves, so not wanting to repeat that joy mystifies me. Perhaps, part of the issue is that home (ie Oklahoma) I've realized for more than a decade is not where I was able to get a job and thus live. I'm just taken "home" with me, and been happy to see live and fully experience new places. Then, I can take a little bit of those places with me too. Or being Scotch-Irish, being a semi-nomad is partly in my blood.
