Can this year be over yet?

It has been a very long time since I've updated. I got to the first Thursday of Nano, and decided that for my sanity and stress I was doing what I could and not caring about meeting the 50K goal. I got to 24,500 of so words, and have a good start on a SF novel that might not actually be done until January or later.

Basically there was tons of paperwork to get done for the move, including 2 passports to apply for. Work has as usual been busy. I hate teaching 3 different levels, because remembering what to include and what to leave out gets hard to juggle fast.

I spent much of November wanting the month to be over. But, I know December will be only worse. I need some off time, to be a lump on a log and nothing more. So, instead perhaps I can just be done with 2010. Really, I've been done with it for 2 months already.

I will actually miss my work, most of the students, and my co-workers. Word has spread that not only am I leaving, but leaving for Japan. Southerners are sometimes funny. Most of them are rather content with never traveling, anywhere, something I just can't fathom. And yet, all of them think moving halfway across the planet would be an adventure and very exciting.
