That's what I got out of that scene. Kind of makes sense given the Chuck was based at least in part on Kripke.

Well, the angel thing will be over. But they can't do season 6 without Sam, so somehow, he'll come back. be it God breaking him out or something else, IDK. So yeah, it may be Chuck rode him out. Raised him from Perdition, whatever. I really don't know what to think with the ending, though. Like, where they're going with it ( ... )

I know! Although I feel now like I should have seen it coming ("I never see it coming") considering as someone pointed out above, Chuck was modeled after Kripke.
