Okay that was freaking awesome :O Characterisation? check. Plot? check. :OOOOOO <3 (I'm not feeling too eloquent right now. Still in shock from the greatness of the plot and how if the next season of the anime is really supposed to be about the First Generation then the plot should just be based on this fic-- minus the GiottoG-ness because the television networks wouldn't be able to run the show anymore)
:D I'm glad you liked it! I didn't know the next season of the anime was about the Primos--that could be awesome! ...Or just really, really strange. Oh, KHR. XD
G was crazy fun to write. He's...well, my favorite kind of person, to a distressing degree. XD And I'm happy you liked Daemon, and Ugetsu and G. If only Gokudera were a little less massively insecure, I think he and Yamamoto could have that easy camaraderie going. HOWEVER.
I was actually debating weather I should even write anything because I kind of fail at sounding coherent. But at the same time I firmly believe that this story deserves a lengthy comment full of praises and possibly glitter. Perhaps I can reach some sort of middle ground here.
You have a talent for writing Giotto and G. They seem so human when you describe them, and I have to admit that it's rare to see such great characterization in fanfiction. Oh, and LOL at G. Seriously, he is terribly awesome. Actually, his awesomeness in this story multiplied my eternal love for Gokudera by exactly 3. I was not aware of numbers of such great magnitude up until now. :D
Apparently, I have also read one of your other stories recently (what we fought for at dreamwidth.org) and adored it. Your Tsuna is amazing, Yamamoto is wonderful and Gokudera is beyond words. Your stories are a real pleasure to read. They are meaningful and engaging. Thank you so very much for taking the time to write them. :)
Oh, thank you so much for leaving a comment! It was more coherent than most of my comments, so no worries. XD
I'm glad you liked my Giotto and G--based on the very little we see of them in canon, they seem to have a highly entertaining relationship, so I wanted to play with that. And as much as I adore Gokudera, G, who's basically a self-confident Gokudera, is, like, MY IDEAL MAN. Which is worrying, but what can you do? ^_^;
And I'm happy you liked What We Fought For! That was another KHR fic wherein the research took on a life of its own and ran away with me.
I've finished one of your other stories just now (for the love of the game) and immediately had to start on another one. Your stories have a creepy tendency to pull me right in and take a vice grip on my brain. Some of the imagery and sentences you use are so spot-on that it's kind of hard to believe. The characters are pretty much coming alive in your stories (I am currently reading the one about Hibari and wondering how you managed to make him so... I don't even know how to describe this, relatable? Like a really cool human being). Consequently, I ran out of flowery epithets that might have helped me describe how much I enjoy reading these. D:
Yes, I thought Giotto and G were a delight, actually. :D But Gokudera and Tsuna still have some time to shape up, too, I guess. :)
Well, the fact that you put lots of work into it definitely shows. I was wondering if you have any original stories. I'd love to read them.
You are welcome. I am just happy that you take the time to write fanfiction and post it. :)
Your stories have a creepy tendency to pull me right in and take a vice grip on my brain. :D :D :D IS IT BAD TO SAY I'M GLAD? Thank you!
Hibari is one of my favorites because I suspect he's actually competing with Ryouhei for the title of "most straightforward personality in the 10th generation." It's just that Ryouhei is a goof and Hibari wishes he'd been born a tiger.
You're right--Tsuna and Gokudera are still only 15 or so. They have plenty of time in which to become more awesome! :)
I...am working on original stuff. I NEVER FINISH ANY OF IT, but surely if I keep working on it, something must, inevitably, get finished. ...*hides* XD
Ok. Trying really really hard to put this into coherent sentences because my brain is pretty much all ASDFGHKLJWHATISTHISICANNOTLETMELOVEYOUOMG. But I'll try.
So. If the whole Primo backstory were to be made into a movie I would want it to be scripted from this piece of brilliance. Everything about this is exactly right. The characters, the dialogue, G's entire internal monologue and his reasoning, the plot and how you managed to weave historical details into it that I wouldn't even know how to freaking google if you wrote it down for me, just everything okay?
This needs to be framed. I will frame this. I will frame this and put it up on my wall because I want to worship this forever. I am rambling and I may seem a little bit insane but know that I absolutely loved this and I think you deserve either an Oscar or a Pulitzer prize for this, depending on which they decide to hand out first for fanfiction. Stopping now before anyone calls the cops.
I'm so glad you liked this, and especially the historical details which I obviously obsessed over WAY TOO MUCH. *sheepish* The Primos are so fun to write--like a cracked mirror version of the Tenth generation.
I LOVE YOUR NOTES. Seriously, I would be totally happy if you put fiction-writing on hold for a bit and just wrote a bunch of posts about COOL HISTORY THINGS.
I also love Ugetsu's explanation for his clothes, G and Maria's Arrangement, Elena, G's view of Daemon Spade and the Guardians in general, and not least everyone-except-Giotto's total lack of knowledge concerning Vongola's name. I love how G is not Gokudera at all but remains rather like him, and that goes for everyone right down to Maria & Kyouko.
I already mentioned it, but G's like-me-but-with-less-self-awareness thoughts on Daemon Spade are fascinating.
The whole fic is basically made of favourite lines, but here's one anyway: It’s tough, but for Giotto’s sake, I refrain from any and all victory dances I may feel like doing.
ANYWAY. G's voice is totally on point and perfect, and I love this fic and everything it chooses to be (with extra Italian history references).

I'm so happy you liked my take on the Primos! It was fun trying to strike that close-but-not-too-close balance with the Tenth Gen. And Spade! I didn't think anything could make that guy sympathetic, but then they introduced Elena, and it was like, "Oh, so you are Gokudera GONE HORRIBLY WRONG." I still don't like him, but at least I get where he's coming from now. Yikes.

THIRDED, SO THIRDED. (*Coughs* I mean, speaking as someone who didn't actually read the fic, but skipped straight to the notes.)
