F-first time commenting, but definitely not first time reading.
How do you do it, weaving your deadpan, wry humour with your positively fastidious and WONDERFULLY mad research into what canon gives, and making it sound so beautifully snappy and CANON-like? Well, G's the perfectly characterised narrator for this particular angle - more jaded and sensible(?) than Gokudera, a tad less explosive, but even more head over heels for Giotto. (Because no geek to share space with in his heart? xD jk) Yet, even more freaking dangerous. Heck, everyone is, in Vongola. Tsuna and Giotto are the epitomes of benevolent but woah, their capacity to intensely draw in all the most dangerous people in the world like a really screwed up magnet is crazy. Maybe it's because they're crazy too, in the 'perfectly normal til shizz hits the fan' way - like worrying about the health of people who want you dead, in the middle of a battlefield. And you write that so well. KHR wouldn't be half as amazing for me if it weren't for your fic. >_< Would probably

I'm glad you liked my G! He was a blast to write. Actually, writing him was a little like writing Cross. Crazy burned out, currently running on bitterness and vice alone, just barely enough energy left to laugh at the pain of others...I LOVE THOSE CHARACTERS. And, come to think of it, those people irl. XD
TSUNA. Bless his heart, he's a far more complex character than he would like to be. XD
Yes, this is definitely the shippiest thing I've written for KHR. These guys are the closest thing I have to an OTP in KHR, which, considering their tiny number of scenes, is sort of weird. AH, WELL.
Knuckle really was a priest! Or at least, he took a job serving God, which, close enough.
I'm glad you liked the notes! ISN'T THAT MATERA THING COOL? God I love Hoshino. She breaks my heart on a bimonthly basis, but I still love her. *shakes head*
Ah ha ha, I'm so glad I dragged you into FMA! And KHR, but more FMA. XD
And while all this is going on? Cozart gets married and makes a whole litter of babies. Cozart meanders up and down the Amalfi Coast from one gorgeous town to another. Cozart all but drops out of any world-reforming schemes, and he lives a quiet life, surrounded by his little family, his kids, probably dogs.
I’d like to say I’m man enough not to hate the interfering bastard. I’d like to say that.
I would like to say it with you G but damned if Cozart wasn't kind of a prick.
“Stay, boy,” Alaude hisses as he brushes past me on the other side.
I didn’t even hear the bastard walk up. That is so disturbing. “Woof woof,” I call after him, and he glances back with a razor’s edge smile, then heads into the next room to see if Spade left him any enemies to play with. Apparently this is what Alaude looks like when he’s worried. Cute.
dfasdf I am kind of in love with every single interaction, non-interaction, and vaguest hint of interaction between G and laude in this fic. Beautiful, all of it.
Giotto curls into my side and gets a death
( ... )
Yeah, I also tried hard not to hate Cozart, but...SERIOUSLY, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THAT MAN?
Alaude was somehow even more fun to write than Hibari. Maybe because he's older and more settled? idk *loves*
G you liar you know damn well you're not wearing a shirt in this scene. He generally makes Giotto take his clothes off. He has to make Giotto work for things sometimes--IT IS CHARACTER-BUILDING.
I ship G so differently from how I ship Gokudera. Instead of cuddling him up protectively and only lending him out to the people I'm sure will treat him the nicest, I basically just whore him out to EVERYONE. EVERYONE IS G'S BOYFRIENDS.I'm the same. WHY IS THAT? I guess G seems very...post-trauma? Like, even being Alaude's boyfriend wouldn't mess him up more than he's already messed up. He's good. He can take care of himself. Whereas Gokudera bears constant watching, because he's creative, and given half a chance could always find a lower place. BLESS HIS HEART

G could possibly the most sane member of the primo generation since he consistently acknowledges his own insanity. It was a lot of fun reading from G's pov! He has a hilarious sense of humor and near every line made me lol. It has never occurred to me until now how annoying and catastrophic well-meaning people can be! It's amazing how effective Cozart's character can be despite the fact he never made a real appearance in this story. I totally cracked up at the "Cozart strikes again!"
I can definitely see G as a confident version of Gokudera. Just out of curiosity, why do you ship G/Giotto and not Gokudera/Tsuna? The former duo really just appears to be a more confident version of the latter. Though I do see that an important difference in the relationship is that G and Giotto grew up together and that G knows that he is Giotto's friend before he is his dog, so to speak.
Hahaha I love how hardcore you are with the historical accuracy of this fic! This is amazing. Hope to see more KHR fics!
Thank you! :D I'm glad you liked G's POV--it was more fun to write than I was expecting.
It has never occurred to me until now how annoying and catastrophic well-meaning people can be! Seriously, I wish there were statistics on evil accomplished by well-meaning people v. evil accomplished by shamelessly bad, self-serving people. Although the results would probably be dead depressing.
Just out of curiosity, why do you ship G/Giotto and not Gokudera/Tsuna? Honestly, I've been trying to figure that out since the first time Giotto and G showed up and I was instantly like, "I SHIP IT." I think...perhaps...it's because G and Giotto are so much easier with each other than Tsuna and Gokudera are. G MOCKS Giotto sometimes, which puts my mind at ease. Giotto may be G's everything, but Giotto knows that and is more or less comfortable with it. Meanwhile, G knows Giotto well enough to downplay it as much as he can, and he's definitely in no danger of putting Giotto on a pedestal
( ... )
For all that we don't see much of G in canon, he does make me smile every time he actually has a line. And Giotto! Yeesh, too much charisma for anyone's good. o_O
I'm happy you liked the research babble at the end. I debated whether to include that, actually, so it's good to know it worked out. :)
